Not-so-fun-fetti
I suppose I should explain things a little bit. I had a pack of funfetti cupcake mix that I had bought several moons ago for my darling Magik for a late birthday gift. I woke up this morning in the mood to bake and went about the process in my usual manner. I alter the recipe to make it healthier by substituting milk for water and apple sauce for oil. A very common practice. I set my oven placed the cakes in when it reached temperature and waited... and waited... and waited.
I finally removed the cakes after deciding the toothpicks were doomed to come out colored on matter what and sampled some of the cake. It was... rubbery to say the least. The apple sauce taste didn't bake out like it usually does.
This is disappointing since Magik holds the opinion that I can't cook. I can cook. I am just lazy and meticulous, apparently much like my father. I prep every single detail before I even start cooking, wash dishes continuously throughout the cooking process which leaves me tired. Magik cooks more like my mother which is to say, grab everything as you go along and discover that some integral ingredient is missing then mad dash to fix/find/buy said ingredient before everything else is ruined thus leaving the kitchen in shambles.
But cest la vie, I will try and make the cake presentable and edible either way.

Adjustments
Life's been interesting. I am now the proud owner of three jobs. That's right folks, three.
Job #1 is overnight clerk at my local Walgreens. It's really quite nice except that now on my days off I will apparently be up until 5 am or later, not actually a big issue except that I have no will power to accomplish things that I should take care of while I'm awake.
Jobs # 2 and 3 actually occupy the same slot because I'll probably only work them once a week and those jobs are Gamestop and the movie theater. The theater has been my longest job as anyone who has read my blog can tell. It was actually my first job and we have a love hate kind of relationship. Gamestop I started recently but not quite as recently and Walgreens.
My other two jobs are going to be my videogames and miscellaneous wants jobs and Walgreens is my I-kinda-need-this-to-start-living-on-my-own job.
To most people it would like having three jobs would be harder than two. But, honestly right now anyway, it makes my life easier. I work four days for my main job and my secondary jobs are going to be once a week for four hours. It gives me time to get back into crafting and spend time with people that I've been meaning to spend time with.
This opinion is subject to change, of course. My life, and anyone's in general, is not concrete. Things will be good and then they will be bad and I'll make adjustments as they come along, I kind of have to. I'm not all that much of a masochist. Glutton for punishment perhaps but masochist no.

Who Am I?
I think my favorite answer would be 'No one of consequence.'
But that certainly isn't the truth. Most definitely in the case, and opinion, of one of my ex-friends and her boyfriend.
So who am I? I am me. Flawed, insecure, pained, afraid, scared, and probably a lot more negative nouns that I can't think of right now. But, I'm also honest (most of the time), loyal to a fault, as kind as I can be, simple (not minded, although I have my days,
I'm over weight, over worked, under paid. I have lived a life full of positive and negative. I have screwed up and will probably continue to screw up, I hope that I have also done good things.
And I don't really know what this page will be about. I know that I may post things that don't have any other safe outlet. And I know that some of the people that I may write about are not all around bad people but that most of the things I'll post about them will be about their transgressions against me.
I also know that I want to use this page to teach myself to appreciate positive things more, even if they are small.
Because life is too short to live with that knot at the bottom of your stomach that crawls into your throat and lodges itself while tears threaten to break what little self restraint you have and usually at the time that you can't afford to have it happen.
I know because I have spent years with that feeling, and spent the same amount of time thinking that that feeling is my fault because I wasn't enough of someone else to fit in. I still have that problem. But it gets easier to loosen the knots when you can do, see, taste, and make good memories and things for yourself and others who will appreciate it. That is a very important point, note that it is in caps. If people don't appreciate what you do and who you are don't try harder thinking its your fault they will just continue to sap the time soul and, most likely, money out of you in your desperate attempt to make yourself feel better by being liked, another little nugget I've picked personally a
I kind of figure that very few people will actually read this but to those who do I hope you can find something; useful, entertaining, or, if you're a grammar nazi, something to make your head explode.
See you later my duckies.

Finally
There are a great many things in which the elimination of finally can be used for in my case.
Finally! I've gotten a (stoopid) smart phone
Finally! I can walk like a human again (that one will be for another post I think)
Finally! I'm mostly over the drama (at least I tell myself that)
But I think for tonight I'll go with 'Finally! I'm posting again!'
Trying to link up my phone to my account proved an interesting challenge
As with just about anything when it comes to me I suppose.
I should be going to bed, or doing my stretches, our brushing my teeth but now I find my self drawn to just writing what comes to mind and watching my phone mangle whatever it is I'm trying to type.
I think one of my posts I might just give my phone free reign and see what strange jibberish it decides to put out.
I think that's enough for now
Good night my duckies

Science and Russels
Just read about this while finding subjects for my next short research project.
While I'm posting I may as well talk about what I've been up to since my last post.
Currently I am house-sitting with Charlie again. It's been interesting.
Charlie is a Jack Russel Terrier, real sweetie, kind of a butt. He is a food junkie. If you eat in front of him he give you something similar to the smolder then starts barking if you keep paying attention to him.
My best friends since childhood also dropped by for one night with Charlie and I.
They usually end up like this. And both of them kept trying to get Charlie to kill one of them. Charlie just wanted to play. That in itself can be an experience, the dog jumps like a dolphin

I don't wanna go to work now...
I suppose clarification would be helpful. I'm currently enrolled in a research writing class at my college. For one of my papers I thought I'd write about the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands (NWHI). An archipelago to the north of, you guessed it, the Hawaiian islands. The NWHI happen to be a federal reserve and with the most resent shut down of the federal government it did not occur to me that this shut down would include website, and yet, I discovered, to my horror, it did. So there go half of my references for my paper. And my secondary topic is unusable as well since I had planned on writing about Haleakala. So now I have to whip up a paper on Obon. Unless my professor allows me to use .pdf brochures as references.
I think there will be drinking in my future after work...

Steampunk-ish kick
The 6 Rules Of Steampunk
I feel that we let people and trends dictate what we 'think' far too often.
We think there are rules to follow in fashion but have you seen the things coming out of Paris?
They are neither practical nor all that comfortable looking. And really shouldn't that be our main concern when it comes to what we wear?
The author of this article was G.D. Falksen, a prominent steampunk author.
(I need to purchase his Ouroboros Cycle when I get paid)
And another thing:
Do the boys in the second picture look like One Direction?
Is the women in the fourth picture Helena Bonham Carter?
Music Monday Steampunk Opera
From The Dolls Of New Albion, A Steampunk Opera
Sorry I've been away, it's been a hectic couple of weeks
Here is Music Monday
I found the piece on a search for steampunk music. The art work for the album cover caught my attention. I found the music fun to listen, and the lyrics gave a description of a world that might be interesting to visit.

Science Sunday: Galapagos
And here are the Treks.
The Galapagos Islands are well known as the place where Darwin began his theory of evolution by way of natural selection.
And while we're at it here are the Ghost's of Google Street View. An artist named Paolo Cirio goes to places and paints the people captured in Google street view where they were seen.
This is my first Science Sunday post. I'm thinking about ways to keep me engaged in writing and for some reason Alliteration days came to mind. So far I've got Music Mondays which can also switch to Mustard Mondays, since I like mustard. I'm avoiding Melancholy Mondays. And Woozel Wednesdays or Heffalump Humpday. I may post about Winne the Pooh, Elephants or Weasels.
If anyone has any other alliteration day ideas let me know

And once more unto the breach...
So updates:
I am engaged to Spiderman.
I fell at work and am dealing with bureaucracy of the insurance system.
My main group of friends has fallen apart.
Spiderman is out of state, and we're both very sad about it.
I am taking a research writing class at the college.
Long story short my life has been very hectic lately.
I am thinking about using this page to work on my writing skills, so if you see grammatical errors, and spelling errors I welcome the help.
And I some of my posts may not be as light hearted as they used to be. I think I need a cathartic release that Saints Row the Third can't provide.

A little update
Anywho...
I'm down to one fish, Spook, he has out lived everyone, Laddy-o, he died last month; Daddy-o, died a while ago; Scion, committed suicide (see previous posts); and Dante, he died around my birthday, I was kind of sad about that, but he lived a good life. Had a 'Baker Street Gang' for a little while. Sherlock, John, Mycroft, Lestrade/Moriarty. Turns out Lestrade was less Lestrade and more Moriarty, he ate the other fish...
I had a pigeon for about a week. My Boyfriend and I rescued the bird, we still aren't sure what sex it was. It was a pretty looking bird though. It had feathers on the bottom of its legs, but not tiny feathers they were as long as my fingers. Apparently he was a fancy pigeon (real term) at least according to wiki, and everyone knows that everything on wiki it true XP
Any way, as we were deciding whether or not to keep the pigeon it started flying around my room then into my window, we decided that we might want to let the bird go. This resulted in my boyfriend and I chasing the bird around the grounds trying to 'convince' the bird to either let us catch it again or at least sit in a bloody tree. Last we saw of it it was sitting on a wall until it was chased away by two smaller birds, I don'[t have much faith of that bird living a long life...
And currently I have a Jack Russel Terrier at my feet. His name is Charlie. I'm house sitting him for my conductor while he's on vacation. Sweet dog, total brat at times. I didn't even know the dog was trained until my mother dropped by to visit. Walking him is much easier now. And, he is a world class beggar. I have had quiet a few conversations with him while walking him. He is also very fond of the pillow from his kennel, very fond of it.
And that would be everything from the animal angle of my life.
Work is work and hasn't really changed.
In fact much of my life really hasn't changed
You may have noticed, however, the use of the term boyfriend.
Yes, I have a new boyfriend. We've been together for almost two months now. It's really great. I always smile when I'm with him, even if I had been in a bad mood before he showed up. He just makes me happy, even if I just talk with him on the phone. And his name? Spiderman
Not really, but he does really like Spiderman, and I wouldn't actually release is name online, just a photo
XD
Yes that is him in the jacket, on the Batmobile
Well, I've got eggs a hard boilin'
I'll probably write more tomorrow
I'm making my mom's milk potato soup tomorrow
Bye bye!

Missing Fish update
Or what was left.
It was kinda turned into fish jerky
His body was in one of the boxes that I needed to go through, found his fin first then the rest of him...
Surprisingly it didn't smell funny, or I think I would have found it sooner.
Boys are stupid...

It's been a while...
I'm back!
*looks around*
*crickets chirp*
Yep, just as I left it.
Life has been... busy.
Work is the same and school seems to be getting better, I've managed to get A's on the first two psychology exams.
Room's been rearranged, again.
God my life is boring...
I feel like Douglas and Martin flying over Russia
This, by the way, is a brilliant series to listen to.
Ok, I suppose that that's all for now, I'm probably going to post more. Especially now that my life is not consumed by the internship or increasingly exhausting chorus class...

Up Next...
Still haven't found Scion's body and there is no fishy smell in my room. So, I have no idea what happened to that fish.
No other fish have died, which is a nice thing. I feel bad when they die... Usually...
Had a tooth ripped out. Wisdom. Figured I'd get it out while I was covered for dental.
Almost done with my room.
Moving things around and getting rid of things. Mostly getting rid of things really.
Yep life is horribly boring right now. Except for the crazy people below.
Think I'll enjoy the peace for now.
Wow this is a really boring post isn't it...

BOYS ARE STUPID!!!!!!!! (part 2)
Yep I came home to an empty tank. The moron jumped. Worst part? We can't find the body. I scoured my room. The shelf the boys live on. The desk under the shelf the boys live on. The book cases under the desk under the shelf that the boys live on. The cords that drape down below the shelf that the boys live on and behind the desk below the shelf. We pulled out the book cases below the desk below the shelf. NOTHING!
Stupid stupid fish!
He's like freaking Houdini and this was his last trick...

Magical Toilet
The fish in question was another moon platy named Riku, I got him at the same time I got Scion. I got them after owning Dante for about a year or so. I originally put Riku in the tank with Scion. He wasn't going in with Dante because Dante can be a bit of a bully. But Scion started picking on Riku as well so Riku got his own tank. We got him 2 more friend, Daddy-o, formerly known as Sora (yes that was my yaoi obsession) and Auron, another guppy sadly deceased.
I came home to discover Auron doing the backstroke and Sora swimming about. Riku was nowhere to be seen. I flushed Auron and proceeded to search my desk area for Riku. I found him. Dried out on an old credit card statement. I sighed and pick up the credit card statement and went to the restroom. I gently pushed Riku off and was just about to flush the toilet when the bugger started swimming!
I scooped him out of the toilet and rushed him into clean water. He died about a week later. I was amazed he survived that long.
Fish are fascinating creatures, and again boys are stupid...

Boys Are STUPID!!!!
I suppose an explanation might be appreciated.
I am the proud owner of 2 Betta... Both male, because I like the pretty ones, and the only pretty ones are male... And both attempted suicide. Dante, my older red boy, jumped from my hand on to the kitchen counter while transporting him to a different bowl so I could clean his tank. And while I scrambled to catch him he jumped from the kitchen counter and on to the floor. The idiot managed to tear half his tail fin off. It scared the hell out of me and I felt bad as I watched his blood drip in his temporary bowl. This lead me to looking up possible infections for Betta while I waited for Dante's water to settle
As I put Dante's tank back on the shelf with my other Betta, Scion, blue and young; and the boys, a moon platy, guppy, and bottom feeder: Daddy-o, Laddy-o, and Spook (god bless Carlin), respectively. I noticed that Scion's fins were crumpled. Further research leads me to suspect a fungal infection. I decided to steralize his tank tonight and as I took him out he too jumped onto the kitchen counter, luckily he did not land on the floor like Dante, and there were no ripped fins either.
Both boys have medication in their bowls now, so hopefully there will not be a toilet in their future...
Granted that toilet did have a Lazarus like effect on Riku one of my other fish...

Mostly Dead
Miracle Max: Whoo-hoo-hoo, look who knows so much. It just so happens that your friend here is only MOSTLY dead. There's a big difference between mostly dead and all dead. Mostly dead is slightly alive. With all dead, well, with all dead there's usually only one thing you can do.
Inigo Montoya: What's that?
Miracle Max: Go through his clothes and look for loose change.
I'M ALIVE!!!!!
...sorta...
I think I've been somewhere between mostly dead and all dead. Life's been hectic. Our GM left. My 'ex' is still trying to remove the 'ex' status. Concerts and midterms and tennis rackets. Yes my life is interesting right now. Parts of it remind me of Manga. I'd like those parts to stop. I'm sure my bed, upper back and tennis racket would appreciate it. Not to mention my clutch, psp, and lip-gloss.

A little water never hurt anyone....
I got my new umbrella and I was lamenting the fact that the rain was gone. I wished for more.
THIS IS NOT THE TYPE OF WATER I WANTED!!!!!!
If you're reading this you may not be up to date with current events.
>.>
Sitting and waiting for things to happen is not my style, so now I'm flitting about the house packing and fussing so as not to go into major melt down.

Special people
Don't answer that... Rhetorical...
Training n00bs it a job that has kind of been handed to me. A job that amuses me considering the fact that the first warning most n00bs receive is 'This is Ari. She might be the first person you get into a fight with."
Not that I'm a bad person, on most days. Just that I think
Shut up
Either way I usually end up teaching the n00bs during closing shifts.
The n00b I was teaching this past Saturday ended up making me question my current educational path, the teaching program.
He turned the simple process of cleaning the hot dog machine into one of Hercules tasks.
First came trying to remove the caked on grease from the rollers (an easy task depending on the day). I watched as the poor boy worked himself into a sweat trying to remove the grease. I took the sponge from him and removed more grease in a few seconds then he had in a few minutes. In the end it took him almost an hour to get all the grease off. After that we are supposed to wipe off the remaining grease and soap with a clean wet sponge. I left him to it while I helped a customer and turned back in time to see him start pouring water over the hot dog machine from a bucket. I screeched, ran over to stop him, then stared in dismay at the mess he'd just made. Greasy soapy smelly water pooled under the machine and dripped onto the floor forming a slippery puddle.
I whimpered in agony as he looked at me vapidly and ask "I wasn't supposed to do that?" At which point I started to laugh loudly (possibly with a hint of hysteria). And then, amazingly, he tried to turn the hot dog machine back on the wipe down the rollers. I stopped him because I really didn't feel like dealing with the paper work that would have come from him electrocuting himself. I moved that hot machine away and put it on its side to let the water drip out and made him clean up the mess he made. About an hour later we finally got back to finishing the hot machine. I watched like a hawk while he finished cleaning it.
In the end a task that takes no more then a half an hour at time took almost three hours.
Needless to say, it was a long night.
